A: The PrimeTime Summer Program provides an engaging environment where students can strengthen their academic skills and participate in fun enrichment activities within the areas of art, science, music and athletics, while improving social skills. Students who participate in the PrimeTime Summer Program will be offered a free nutritious meal.
Q: What schools will offer a PrimeTime Summer Program?

Q: When does the program begin and end?
A: The PrimeTime Summer Program begins on Wednesday, June 12, 2024 and ends Friday, July 12, 2024. The program is closed June 19, July 4, and July 5.
Q: What are the program hours of the PrimeTime Summer Program?
A: The program begins at 12:00 p.m. and ends at 5:00 p.m.

A: The program is closed on district holidays June 19, July 4, and July 5.
Q: How do I determine if my child is eligible for the PrimeTime Summer Program?
A: San Diego Unified students attending the San Diego Unified Summer Academic/ESY Program will be eligible to apply to participate in the PrimeTime Summer Program at the same school site including students in Universal Transitional Kindergarten (UTK) through eighth grade during the 2023-24 school year. Students who meet the Priority 1 (P1) criteria will receive priority registration

A: Students who meet the Priority 1 (P1) criteria will receive priority registration and can register beginning Monday, January 29, 2024. The last day for P1 families to enroll their student(s) is March 15, 2024.
Q: How do I determine if my student meets the P1 criteria?
A: Under the California Department of Education Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELOP) grant requirements and district priority areas, students who meet at least one of the following criteria will be given priority registration (P1):
- Multilingual (English Language Learner)
- Free or reduced-price meal eligibility
- Homeless/foster youth
- Students with disabilities (IEP or 504)
- Siblings of students with the above criteria at the same school

A: If your student is waitlisted, families may apply for Level Up enrichment programs.

A: Yes, students currently attending PrimeTime this school year must apply for the PrimeTime Summer Program.

A: No, students must be enrolled in the summer academic program to be eligible for PrimeTime Summer Program at the same school site and not attending the Level Up program.
Q: Can I apply for the PrimeTime Summer Program now and change to the Level up program after?
A: Yes, if your student is placed on the waitlist.
Q: Is the PrimeTime site at the same school as the summer academic program? I work fulltime and cannot drive my student to a separate program location.

Q: Will my child be accepted to the PrimeTime Summer Program if one of the parents is at home or unemployed?
A: Acceptance in PrimeTime is not guaranteed and is based on an application rating system. Please refer to the PrimeTime Summer Program website here for more information.
Q: Does my student have to attend the five-hour day of the PrimeTime Summer Program? Can I pick up my student at 4:30pm instead of 5:00pm?
A: Families may pick up their student at 4:30 and complete the PrimeTime Early Release form. More information regarding this process will be shared with families prior to the start of summer programming.
Q: Our family has a vacation planned. How many hours can my student miss?
A: Per state guidelines, students should plan to attend the program daily.
Q: What is the difference between the PrimeTime Summer Program and the summer academic program?
A: The PrimeTime Summer Program provides an engaging environment where students can strengthen their academic skills and participate in fun enrichment activities within the areas of art, science, music and athletics, while improving social skills. The summer academic program is an opportunity for students to continue their academic journey through the summer. Classes are taught by our highly qualified San Diego Unified teachers.
Q: Is the PrimeTime Summer Program the only option for “after school” programming during the summer, or will there be other enrichment options after the Summer Academic Morning Program?
A: In addition to PrimeTime, the Level Up enrichment programs will be offered after the summer academic programs.
